Here’s a quick exercise for you, don’t think too much, just say the first thing that comes to your mind…
Explain the next 5 years of your life in one sentence…
At our Harvest Celebration breakfast this past Saturday, we asked our main speaker – Lorenzo Davids this question. If there’s anybody who understands the concept of legacy, it’s him. In the 1980’s he was a student involved with our ministry on the University of the Western Cape, now he’s the CEO of the Community Chest in the Western Cape. As he relayed the adventures of their faith during their time as students on that campus, it was wonderful to remember once again that all God requires of us is a willing heart and a hand raised that says, “Send me God, I will go” . And to keep that hand raised comes at a cost but that is what builds a legacy. Speaking of legacy, this breakfast that was hosted on Saturday at the Encore Restaurant on Northlink Tygerberg campus, brought together the generous ministry partners of the CCC Western Cape office as well as a few others who are keen to hear more about what God is doing here. As I surveyed the room, I watched our missionaries brimming over with stories of what God has done and expressing their thanks to our partners and then to see the partners excited and grateful to be a part of what God is doing in this province.
I’ll end off with sharing about Nicole Hartzenberg – this young lady is in her 5th year of medical studies but is making the time to disciple someone AND be discipled. Her encouragement to us was – you can’t just sit with what you’ve been given – you need to go share it with others.
What about you? Is your hand still raised for God to use you?
Think about it,
